Review:
I have been waiting a whole year at least to read this book, and finally I have been able to buy it!!
I’d like to say it was all I imagined and beyond. But I think I got myself a little to hyped up for it, I still loved this book to death though.
I felt very sad for Ashlyn; her parents were controlling her life. They picked out her college; her dad didn’t want her to date at all. Her parents hired “companions” for her, another word for a bodyguard.
Ashlyn was almost 18 and she didn’t need someone protecting her 24/7. No one has tried to kidnap her again, it only happened one time when she was younger. Now she’s almost 18 and her dad won’t let her have any friends her dad wouldn’t approve of. He takes her cell phone, making sure she’s not talking to anyone other than her best friend. Talk about being a paranoid parent.
Just reading about her dad made me want to take this book and chuck it out the window. At least he wasn’t physically abusive to her, but the way he treated her was a form of abuse in a way.
Whenever there was a scene with Ashlyn and Colin I couldn’t help thinking about how perfect they are for each other. Although at first it really annoyed me that right away Ashlyn had feelings for Colin even though she hated him ever since she was little, I mean she just looked at him for the first time in years and it was an instant attraction. She didn’t even hate him for that long after they reunited.
Don’t even get me started with Stuart, I liked him even less than Ashlyn, I knew there was a creepy stalker vibe about him! Oh what people don’t do for “love.”
This book had me cringing, being on the brink of tears but happy at other times. I wanted to know what was next after each page, I couldn’t get enough, I was sad to see the book over but I felt satisfied.
The cover was absolutely perfect for the book; it captured exactly what the book was about. I look forward to reading more of Jennifer Laurens books!
4/5 stars

thank you :)
it is a great book
Wow. I've heard so much about this, and I'm glad to hear that it's worth all the hype! I guess I should be glad you wanted to throw the book out the window over her dad because it goes to show how Jennifer Laurens is a master at character building. I hope all goes well for Ashlyn in the end because here's [another] book that I'm going to get!!
