Summary:
Lexi is cursed with a dark secret. Each day she goes to school like a normal teenager, and each night she must swim, or the pain will be unbearable. She is a siren - a deadly mermaid destined to lure men to their watery deaths. After a terrible tragedy, Lexi shut herself off from the world, vowing to protect the ones she loves. But she soon finds herself caught between a new boy at school who may have the power to melt her icy exterior, and a handsome water spirit who says he can break Lexi's curse if she gives up everything else. Lexi is faced with the hardest decision she’s ever had to make: the life she's always longed for - or the love she can't live without?

Review:
Words cannot express how much I loved reading Ripple.
Lexi is cursed, she is a siren. Every night she has to go for a swim and sing, the only problem is when she sings and people are close they go into a trance and drown. That’s what happened on her 16th birthday when she went into the ocean with Steven, the love of her life. She sang out and Steven drowned. Lexi has killed someone and the guilt has been hanging on her for two years.
Her ex- best friends blamed her for his death and tried to make her pay, they were mean and ruthless, they tripped her, and treated her like crap. And she took the blame, because she did kill him. There was only one who didn’t treat her like crap and that was Cole.
Cole is so sweet and caring, he was Stevens’s best friend and he secretly loved Lexi for three years, he never thought he was good enough, never could beat for Steven. His love for Lexi rang out in Ripple and it made me sad when he was hurt, but then I understood that Lexi only did it to save him from the same fate as his best friend.
Then there’s Erik, he claims that before his 18th birthday he has to fall in love with a siren and her with him to break the curse. Erik is a Nix, he and Lexi go out for awhile and try to fall in love before his “birthday” in a few weeks, Erik is handsome and sweet and it seemed like he truly cared for Lexi.
The ending was totally unexpected and I loved it. Ripple wasn’t a predictable story at all, every page had me wanting more and more.
Ripple is my favorite Mandy Hubbard book so far, I didn’t think anything could be better than her last novel but I was totally wrong, she really did a really excellent job creating a book that isn’t written about much.
I felt like I was actually in the story, the characters emotions were so real and I felt compassion for each character and hatred towards some. It was so overwhelming and I loved it. Don’t forget to add this to your to-read pile!

5/5 stars

Very insightful review!

I really liked it, too! I liked the first person POV and the fact that Lexi was such a realistic character!

Thanks for sharing :o]
