Summary:
Sophie Mercer thought she was a witch.

That was the whole reason she was sent to Hex Hall, a reform school for delinquent Prodigium (aka witches, shapeshifters, and fairies). But that was before she discovered the family secret, and that her hot crush, Archer Cross, is an agent for The Eye, a group bent on wiping Prodigium off the face of the earth.

Review:

Demonglass starts off right where Hex hall ended. The problem for me was that I read Hex Hall last year and I don’t remember half the plot, nor do I remember how it ended. Once I started reading Demonglass certain parts came back to me though.

I loved how most of the book was set in England. I want to go to England really bad so reading books with the setting from England makes me want to go there that much more.

Sophie’s powerful father suddenly makes an appearance, for the first time 16 years, I would just like to say that I loved the thought of trying to imagine Sophie’s father with a British accent. It’s very hard to imagine what he looks like and then to top it all off you have to imagine the totally awesome accent. He then makes Sophie come to England with him, and Sophie would only come on one condition. Jenna must come with. Jenna is Sophie’s vampire friend. Sophie, Jenna, Cal and her father all set off for England.

I love cal, I wish that Sophie would get her head out of the clouds and stop thinking about Archer. I realize Sophie loves Archer but Cal is right there and she doesn’t even see the signs that are right in front of her. Cal is in love with Sophie.

So they find themselves at a beautiful British mansion. There they meet Daisy and Nick; both of them are demons to. Sophie was very confused. She thought her and her dad were the only demons existed. Daisy and Nick are made demons, the spell that turns demons has been lost ages ago. That’s why curiosity sparks in Sophie, how could these to demons be made when the spell has been missing?

Demonglass has a lot of action, battles and more of Archer. I realize the whole forbidden love/love triangle aspect of the story, which has become more popular in YA lately, but since she has been forced not to spend time with Archer (the enemy, a demon hunter) I don’t understand why she doesn’t listen. And the thing where she’s so insecure, and thinks that having powers will kill someone, she reminds me of how someone that’s 12 should act. Not a 16 year old.

I would just like to clarify that I am team Cal, and they ended with the unfortunate cliffhanger at the end, which made me so mad, why can’t the next book be out already!
